C4FM/FM 144/430MHz Compact Digital Transceiver
- Digital Group DG-ID Operation with Digital Group Monitor (GM) Function
Group Monitor enables automatically locating, and communicating with other stations within contact range, that have the matching DG-ID number (ID number from 00 to 99). The Digital Group-ID can be easily configured by each group member.
- AMS (Automatic Mode Select) Function
The AMS (Automatic Mode Select) feature automatically selects the analogue FM and C4FM digital modes, according to the signal of the other station.
- Smart Navigation Function
- Real Time Navigation Feature
Digital V/D modes communicates additional information such as position data at the same time as the voice signal, allowing you to view the distance and direction of the other station in real time whilst communicating with them.
- Backtrack Feature
This feature initiates navigation to a pre-registered starting point. You can constantly check the direction and distance from your current position and navigate back to the departure point, or a point previously added to the memory.
WiRES-X Portable Digital Node compatible
Using the WIRES-X Portable Digital Node function, you can operate a WIRES-X digital node station by directly connecting a compatible C4FM digital transceiver with a PC. (The HRI-200 Internet interface is not needed and no fixed or dynamic global IP address is required.)
There are two operating modes of the WIRES-X Portable Digital Node function:
- Portable Digital Node Mode capable of Internet communication with digital stations.
- Portable HRI Mode capable of Internet communication with both digital and analogue stations.
5W RF Power Output
Four selectable levels of 5W/ 2.5W/ 1W/ 0.3W, which may be set separately for each frequency band.
Wide Band Receive
In addition to operation on the Amateur Bands the FT3DE provides wide-band coverage from 0.5MHz – 999.999MHz (A Band) and 108MHz – 580MHz (B Band) continuous reception*.
Modes
C4FM Digital V/D Mode, Voice FR Mode, Data FR Mode and Conventional FM Mode
Dual Band Simultaneous Receive (V+V/ U+U/ V+U/ U+V)
With two independent receivers you may listen to the same or different bands simultaneously.
(If you are monitoring two C4FM channels, only one will be decoded at a time).
700 mW of Audio Power
Even with its small chassis the FT-3DE emits loud and clear audio which is invaluable when operating in noisy environments.
Built-in Bluetooth® Unit with VOX
The internal Bluetooth® unit enables easy hands-free operation. Using either the optional Yaesu SSM-BT-10 Bluetooth® VOX Headset or a commercially available product.
High Resolution full colour touchscreen display.
The FT3DE’s 320 x 240 full colour touch screen display makes menu navigation extremely quick and user-friendly. Frequently used functions have also been assigned to dedicated one-touch buttons at the bottom of the display.
High Resolution Band Scope
The band scope function enables real-time high-speed monitoring of up to 79 channels centred around the current VFO frequency.
Built-in 66 channel High-Sensitivity GPS Receiver
The GPS unit enables display of your current location and heading information. In C4FM mode you can also display the position and direction of the partner station in real time.
APRS® communication with world standard 1200 / 9600bps AX25 modem (B-band only)
APRS ® allows you to communicate your location to other APRS® stations with your location, speed, and heading displayed on your radio! The FT3DE supports 1200/9600bps APRS ® data communications (B band only).
When you receive signals and information from other APRS stations, the FT3DE displays their positions, heading directions, messages, distances, icons (43 available), weather information, object etc.

Smart Beaconing ™ Function
When using APRS® for position tracking, the beacon timing is automatically adjusted to your traveling speed and location to plot a smoother trace to match your position and movement on a map. SmartBeaconing™ from HamHUD Nichetronix is able to modify its own beacon rate in response to the motion of the vehicle that carries. Since the APRS network has limited bandwidth, SmartBeaconing™ transmits an optimal amount of position information with a minimal amount of QRM to other network users.
